That not one of the forebears that contributed to my DNA failed to pass it on? That they all produced the next person to make my being alive today possible?
That they all survived long enough AND THE EXACT SPERM AND EGG NEEDED TO CREATE EACH ONE SO THAT THEY COULD PRODUCE THE NEXT ONE TILL IT GOT TO ME??!!

and I am telling you it stunned me. If even one of those equations, just one infinitesimal thing had changed I and you would not exist. It would be someone else writing and someone besides you reading this.
Does this scare me? No, because I am here and to me there is no sense worrying about what did or didn't happen.
However, am I happy to be alive? A resounding YES! I s my life perfect Not At All, but I am alive and I can work on it! I have breath and I can think and move and make choices and see the world in wonder that I am part of it!
Consider just one calculation;
If you go back 1 million years it would take 42 x 10403149 universe lifetimes to definitely result in you.
42 with 403,149 zeros after the 42 of it lifetimes of the Universe!
All these numbers err on the side of caution -- a lot of caution.
(D) Aren't You lucky?
If you consider almost any time in the past and try to calculate the probability of you coming into being, even 2 generations ago, your possible existence is so low that it's almost not worth thinking about.
Aren't you happy you're alive??? Lucky YOU!
The next time you think how bored you are or how dull life is or how hard life is to deal with give some consideration to what a miracle it is you even exist and just breathe....you've already gotten through the hardest part.
The way I believe is that God had a specific purpose for each one of us to be here at this specific time and place and we will accomplish what our reason for being if we follow His will. Now you may ask, what is His will? I think it is that inner voice that guides us plus those that come into our lives, sometimes for a short while and some for a life time that will influence what we do with our life.
ReplyDeleteSo what are the chances? It is really beyond our comprehension but the wonder of it is magnificent and even with all the trials and tribulations life is a wonder and a joy!

Thanks for that very thoughtful comment! There is a strong basis for believing that way. Too many things happen to be just a coincidence but I try to remember that I'm responsible for my attitude and what I do.
